Marine environment

The measures program is active in the areas of the marine environment and the coastal environment.

The measures program has recently formed a working group for development of marine and coasts measures. Represented on this working group are:

  • the New South Wales, Victorian, Queensland, Western Australian and South Australian governments
  • Australian Government agencies, including the Department of the Environment and Energy and Geoscience Australia
  • the research sector, including the Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS), Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS).

The working group will initially focus on four areas: water quality, shallow reef fish, mangrove and salt marsh habitat and migratory birds. If you would like to be part of the working group for development of marine measures, please contact the programme manager.
